Get in touch

People come to therapy for any number of reasons, and sometimes without a specific ‘issue’.  You might just have a general feeling that you'd like some help talking through your thoughts and feelings.  Sometimes the feelings you have may seem to have no obvious origin in your present situation.

You might also decide to contact me if you feel affected by events that seem unbearable or overwhelming, if you find yourself stuck feeling anxious or depressed, or in repeating patterns of suffering.

You may be struggling with confidence and self-esteem, or feeling lonely, empty or lost.  â€‹You may be grappling with a major life transition like parenthood, or living with chronic illness.

I am here to help my clients make sense of their unique experiences, and any knots you wish to untie.  Whatever brings you to come and talk, I offer a confidential, creative place to explore these and help you to figure out a way forward.

My approach

My approach to therapy is relational: I believe that a trusting and open therapeutic relationship is central to any change.  I work integratively, which means I draw on a range of tools and theories to support you.

About me

Photograph of me

I am a trainee psychotherapist at Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC), registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).  As part of my training I have worked as a counsellor at Cotswold Counselling.

In my previous career, I worked as a Civil Servant on security policy, as a journalist, and as a policy researcher on poverty in the UK.  The common thread that eventually led me to psychotherapy was my concern for the individual’s unique experience, within an awareness of wider society.

I am currently doing the MA & Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy at BCPC & Middlesex University.  I previously completed the Foundation Certificate in Psychotherapy at The Minster Centre, London.

Practicalities

My sessions are 50 minutes long, weekly, on Wednesdays.  I work face-to-face, with online sessions by exception.

Location

I work with clients from a quiet, private space in the Malmesbury Clinic near to Malmesbury & Cirencester.  There is free parking available.

Cost

My current fee is £25 per session.

What next?

Please get in touch to schedule an introductory session to see if you’d like to work together.

First session

If the practicalities line up, we will meet for a 50-minute consultation.  Therapy is an individual process, so I suggest the best way to know how it might feel to work together is by meeting in person.

The initial session is a chance to get to know each other and talk through your hopes, expectations and questions of therapy.  I will also clarify my approach to the work and my terms of service.  This session is charged at £25.  It is obligation free and does not commit you.

Ongoing work together

Psychotherapy is usually open-ended which means we would not be working to a set number of sessions.  Usually the length of therapy is discussed between us, and can be revisited at any time.

Together, we'll work to process what's troubling you and to make sense of your experiences.  In this way, we will pave the way for gradual changes in how you are able to relate both to yourself and others.
